Salaam and hi, I am a tiny and shy Singaporean who enjoys creating illustrations and paintings using both traditional and digital mediums and tools. I also enjoy trying other crafty hobbies. Exploring coffee shops, bookstores, flea markets, and walking on the streets, as well as being in nature, are definitely some of my favourite outdoor activities. Sometimes, when at home, I try to experiment with baking and cooking anything that I would like to eat, and especially ones that remind me of home.
Apart from these creative pursuits, I am also pursuing a part-time Bachelor's in Islamic Psychology and am currently in my final semester. I hope to be beneficial and utilise my knowledge and skills to help others, whether through art or other means.
I have always been interested in doing art since childhood, but growing up, the route was not so clear. I graduated with a Diploma in Internet and Multimedia Development in 2010 but decided that web designing and especially coding was not for me. I then worked full-time as a preschool teacher for six years, and left with a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education.
Personal circumstances took a turn for me and it was only after I moved abroad in 2017, that I started using art as a tool to cope, heal, and adapt. I take inspiration from fellow creatives, nature, and life in general. I lean more towards illustration and painting, and am still learning as I go. I have many aspirations and goals, and one of them is to be a children's book illustrator. And sometimes, I dream of opening a little cosy bakery-café or even a hostel that doubles as a bookshop, craft store, and a safe, social space for art workshops and more!
I currently live in the suburbs of Île-de-France with my husband, who is truly my best companion. I navigate life between Singapore and France. And although I have grown to love it here, my heart is always missing my homeland because that is where my family, friends, and cats are. Nevertheless, I am still seeking friends who share the same values and interests, and constantly thinking about how I can form my own community here, whether physically or virtually. So if you are interested, do send me a greeting or let me know! It would be a great pleasure and dream too, to be able to share my artworks and little skills that I have learn with you too.
I look forward to more connections, collaborations, and growth with others. Thank you for reading and dropping by here <3
